June 19th, 2007
The design and decoration work at all the competition sites as well as decorative arts at the airport and main areas in Bangkok and important provinces will be carried out by artists and students of the Arts and Design Department of Silpakorn University. They will decorate the Universiade City with their talented skills in paintings and sculptural arts. “We’ve completed our design work for the medals and Flame cauldron, while design for sports uniforms and the Games mascot has so far covered 70-80 percent of the entire work”, Assoc. Prof. Vichoke said. “The ultimate aim of hosting the 24th Universiade Bangkok 2007 is to honor HM the King on the auspicious occasion of the anniversary of his 80th birthday,” Assoc. Prof. Vichoke added. “Therefore, the city decoration with artwork should be in line with this concept. As for the decoration of the city, nationwide educational institutes on arts will be invited to share design and creativity. This is to give all students a good chance to be an important part in making the 24th Universiade Bangkok 2007 a memorable success.
