CESU Meets at FISU HQ

The CESU, the Commission for University Sports Study, met at the FISU Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium from February 16th to 17th. After a word of welcome by FISU Secretary-General Roch Campana, the CESU tackled the preparation of the 2007 CESU Conference which will take place during the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand. The exact dates for the Conference are August 9th to 12th. Two delegates of the Bangkok OC were present to inform the CESU members about the progress of the preparations. On Saturday, February 17th, the Commission worked on the preparations of the 2008 FISU Forum, which will be hosted by the city of Krakow, Poland. The Action Plan of the Cooperation and Planning Group – Challenge 21 was discussed as well. In the afternoon session, the CESU members looked at the bidding candidates for the 2010 FISU Forum as well as the new edition of the guidelines for the Forum. The FISU Legacy was discussed as well.
