Korean Governor Stresses Support for 2010 WUC Equestrian Candidature

Today, February 18th, a Korean delegation re-visited the FISU Headquarters in Brussels. To support the candidature of Sangju City to host the 2010 World University Equestrian Championship, The Governor of the Province of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Mr. Kwan Yong Kim and the Mayor of Sangju City, Mr. Jang Bag Lee met with FISU Secretary-General Eric Saintrond and Director for WUC Laurent Briel to confirm their full support to the Bidding Committee of the WUC. The Governor also stressed the fact that a brand new equestrian complex is being built covering 495,000 sqm, which will host the 2008 Korean Equestrian Championships. The Bidding Committee members will travel to Harbin, China for the next FISU Executive Committee meeting to make an official presentation of their bid for all the FISU EC members. Assisting at this meeting on the Korean side also were Mr Il-Hong KIM, Secretary General of the Asian Equestrian Federation, Mr. Ha Rok Jung, member of the Bidding Committee and Mr. Nam-Il Kim, Director-General, Department of Environment, Maritime and Forest Affairs of Korea On the FISU side: Kole Gjeloshaj, Director of Education, Nicole Mangelschots, Assistant WUC and Christian Pierre, FISU Media Representative.
