Meeting FISU-FISA
April 17th, 2007
Matt Smith, the Secretary General of the International Federation of Rowing Associations (FISA) paid a visit to the FISU HQ last week. He met with Mr. Lionel Girard, the FISU Technical Chairman for rowing and Mr. Laurent Briel our Director for the FISU Championships. Different points were on the agenda: - the signature of the FISU-FISA convention which will take place in Beijing during the GAISF meeting (Similar convention to those already signed by the FITA, the WKF and the IFF); - the set up of a calendar for the next FISU rowing events; - the set up of a minimum requirements file for the organisers; - the participation of FISU in the FISA development programme - the creation of world and continental university events on coastal rowing; - the promotion by the FISA of the FISU events (Universiades and World University Championships). The meeting was fruitful and all the participants were very happy to work in such a good atmosphere.
