2008 WUC Taekwondo: Update

From July 16th to 20th, Belgrade will host the 10th edition of the World University Taekwondo Championship.
The Delegations Arrived
One day prior to the WUC, a great number of delegations already arrived in the host city. The first contingent from the delegations of NED and USA arrived on Sunday and yesterday the delegations from BRA, CAN, GER, CHN, GBR, INA, CZE, POL, NOR, TUR, ESP and MDA arrived during the day. The 10th World University Taekwondo Championship, organised by the Serbian University Sports Federation will be the first from a series of tests events organized prior the 25th Summer Universiade held in Belgrade next year from July 1st to 12th. At this edition of the World University Taekwondo Championship, the Organizing Committee expects participants from 42 countries from all over the world.
Accommodation
The OC prepared for the participating countries, referees and FISU Family three different, but very good accommodations. The FISU Family is accommodated in the Hyatt Hotel, here the FISU Executive Committee will be held next October as well. The referees are accommodated at the Hotel Sumadija and the athletes and officials are accommodated in the Studentsky Grad, the same place the participants of the European Youth Olympic Days where accommodated last year.
Accreditation
The accreditation centre is situated in the University library where the finals will be staged and Nihat Doker (TUR), member of the CIC commission, expects a lot of work, checking the entry forms of the competitors. The accreditation centre is well organized and everyone knows their work there.
CT Chairman
Prior to the start of the competition the FISU CT Taekwondo Ken MIN (USA) joined the President of the Organizing Committee Sinisa JASNIC to attend the press conference to inform the local press about the preparation of the WUC.
