Newly Appointed Technical Chair for Cycling Visits FISU HQ

Yesterday, November 13th, Gudo Kramer (NED), the newly appointed FISU Technical Chair for Cycling visited the FISU Headquarters to meet with Laurent Briel, Director for the World University Championships, Marc Van Den Plas, Director of Summer Universiade and Michal Buchel, Sports Manager. During the meeting several topics were discussed, such as the competition program of the next events, the feasibility of a survey within the FISU Family regarding the place the sport of cycling has within the FISU Member Associations and the most important events. Possible candidatures for the 2010 WUC Cycling were evaluated and an analysis was made of the program for the 2011 Summer Universiade in Shenzhen, China, where cycling will be an optional sport. A project for the promotion of using the bicycle by different means and via the FISU website was also discussed as well as the relationship with the UCI.
