FISU Executive Committee Meeting: Day 2

Today, May 14th the FISU Executive Committee was in session for its second day of meetings in Brussels, Belgium. Director-General Eric Saintrond gave information regarding the visa applications for the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok. Challenge 21 Coordination and Planning Group presented its report on the work done by the Group. Between the period of 2005-2007 the Group met 5 times and advised the EC on a number of issues. The EC members voted a number of proposals of modifications and amendments to the Statutes and the Internal Regulations and accepted the provisional admission as associate member five continental university sports federations. A short report was given on the CESU meeting which was held at the FISU HQ in Brussels in February. The minutes of this meeting were approved as well. Secretary-General Roch Campana gave an update of the relationships with the International Sports Federations and gave an overview of his presence together with FISU Staff members at a number of conventions such as the CIS and Eastern Europe University Sports Seminar in Kazan, Russia last April and the GAISF General Assembly and the SportAccord convention in Beijing, China. Mr. Campana also reminded the EC members of the board meeting of EUSA in the FISU HQ in Brussels. Last item on the agenda were the recommendations of modifications of the sports regulations.
