Belgrade and its citizens honored the arrival of the flag that represents and symbolizes the next host of Universiade. As students are the strongest and main support to this competition, they were first addressed by the Dean of Belgrade University, Mr. Branko Kovacevic. Following Mr. Kovacevic’s speech about the importance of the Universiade for the local academic and sports development, the gathered students were greeted by the General Director of UB2009, Mr. Sinisa Jasnic and Mr. Vlajko Senic, National Secretary of sports from the Serbian Ministry of Youth and Sports. After a 30-minutes programme given by the students from the National Music Academy, the flag of the 25th Universiade was raised to the highest mast of this Institution where it will stay until July 2009.
