2008 WUC Baseball: Update

Not less than 14 countries are interested to participate in the 4th World University Baseball Championship in the Czech Republic. At the beginning 10 countries applied: - Canada - China - Chinese Taipei - Croatia - Czech Republic - Dominican Republic - France - Japan - Mexico - USA Two more countries – Belarus and Lithuania – applied additionally and Cuba and Venezuela have also shown serious interest. Such a high attention confirms the growing importance of the world university championships. 15 countries in total participated at the previous WUBCs (Cuba, USA, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Korea, Italy, China, Czech Republic, Canada, France, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Virgin Islands, and Bahamas). But only four of them – USA, Japan, Chinese Taipei and Czech Republic – were at all of the previous editions in Italy (2002), Chinese Taipei (2004) and Cuba (2006).
