Universiade Belgrade 2009 on Eurosport

A contract on collaboration and televising of the largest sports event in 2009 has been signed in Paris between the most famous sports television network, Eurosport, and Universiade Belgrade 2009. With its two channels, Eurosport is available in 59 countries, which practically means that it is watched in more than 100 million homes, by more than 220 million viewers. This provides the highest ratings at the global level. Due to broadcasting in 20 different languages, including Serbian, over the last six years the ratings of Eurosport rose for 40%. Universiade Belgrade 2009 will be covered with more than 70 hours of broadcasting, not only during the games themselves, but also in the period of preparations, when a programme about Universiade will be broadcast on a monthly basis. Regarding the viewers rating of Eurosport, this will be an opportunity to promote not only Belgrade Universiade but also Serbia and Belgrade as good hosts to over 12 000 athletes next year. It will be an excellent opportunity to present our culture and hospitality, the image that precedes the local people. Broadcasting of the first TV programme about Universiade Belgrade is expected in September this year.
