Continental Association News: 1st Asian University Men’s Football Championship

Under the aegis of Asian University Sports Federation, Federation of University Sports of China, together with Tongji University, was entrusted to host the 1st Asian University Men’s Football Championship from April 20th to 26th, 2007. Student- athletes and officials from 9 countries and regions in Asia, including Hong Kong, Islamic Republic of Iran, Republic of Korea, Macau, Mongolia, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam and the People’s Republic of China participated in the tournament. After a 6-day competition, this championship proved to be a great success. The Organizing Committee awarded a Cup for each team and a Certificate for each participant, which would remind them of this championship and their stay in Shanghai, China. When participating teams happily took photos with their Cup in all kinds of poses, we all knew that AUSF had taken another great forward to its objectives promoting the mutual understanding and friendship among people in Asia.
