Full house at the badminton competition
The 2008 World University Badminton Championship will be staged in Braga, Portugal from May 5th to 10th. The 10th edition of this FISU event will be hosted by the University of Minho. The teams will be accommodated in four star hotels located in the city of Braga, within a 5-minutes distance by car from the Minho University Campus. The catering services will be located on the University Campus, near the sports venue. The meals will be served in buffet style with a mixed variety of meat and fish. The delegations will also have the opportunity to opt for special types of meals or vegetarian meals. According to FISU Regulations, the event will have doping controls. The number of tests will be determined by the FISU Medical Commission during the preparation period of the Championship. The official website of the Local Organising Committee is already online at www.badminton08.uminho.pt and will have all the information of the event, such as news, entry forms, regulations and live results. During the championship, the LOC will broadcast live streaming of most of the matches. The LOC also intends to arrange a big social and cultural event, which will be performed by students from the cultural groups of the University of Minho.
