2008 WUC Field Hockey: Update

Meeting with delegates of the Organising Committee during the Bangkok Universiade
SASSU, the South African Student Sports Union, will write FISU history in 2008 as it will stage the inaugural World University Field Hockey Championship. The dates put forward are May 25th to June 1st, 2008 and the tournament will be hosted in Johannesburg, one of South Africa’s most vibrant cities. Venue of the event will be the Randburg Astro Stadium in Johannesburg which has two state of the art synthetic surfaces. The venue has seating for over 3,000 spectators and has already hosted numerous top International Hockey Tournaments, including the recent Women’s Champions’ Challenge.
