Flag-Raising Ceremony Shows the Warmest Welcome

The entrance of the Athletes' Village

Austrian, Great Britain, France and Mexico were the first groups that received a welcome from the President of CJCU, Dr. CHEN Ching-sheng, who is also the mayor of Athletes' Village by presiding over a flag raising ceremony at the main entrance of the Chang-Jung Christian University. President Chen delivered a welcome message with a whole-hearted tone and presented a plaque to each of the delegations. More flag-raising ceremonies would be held later upon arrival of the rest of teams.

The accreditation center is set up just next to the competition field. CIC member, Kenny Chow (HKG), Secretary-General of the Asian University Sports Federation, is in charge of the teams’ control. Having been to Chinese Taipei for many times, Mr. Chow works closely with the OC staff to make the accreditation proceed as smoothly as possible. In addition, Mr. Juan Carlos Holgado, Chair of the technical commission for this Championship, rolls his sleeves and leaves no details unchecked with field condition. Actually, he has since last year communicated with OC via email to make sure everything is on the right track. A CISCA meeting will be held this evening, chaired by the Mr. Hisato Igarashi (JPN), the FISU Assessor. Teams also start their practice session despite sultry weather. It’s hard see cloud in the sky. Archers from mild weather countries may find it difficult to adjust themselves to Chinese Taipei’s sun.
