Health Service at the 2007 Winter Universiade
January 2nd, 2006
ANPAS Piemonte and Cus Torino have signed a new agreement for the management of the health service of the Torino 2007 Winter Universiade that will open on January 17th, 2007. The National Association of Public Assistance Services (ANPAS) has conceived a new technical plan of health intervention that includes the presence of trained volunteers in support of the personnel and of the means made available. More than 160 ambulances have been made available for the event, to which must be added the 360 volunteers of the teams on foot, all certified in accord with the regional standards, who will be deployed on the competition venues and in the PalaOlimpico, where the Opening Ceremony will be held. For all eventualities there is also an advanced medical plan. ANPAS has also contributed to the training of the Torino 2007 Winter Universiade volunteers, explaining – during a course of 13 meetings promoted by Cus Torino – its own methodologies of assistance and rescue. Thanks to this important cooperation between Cus Torino and ANPAS the Universiade will be safer for all.
