'The Universiade is a unique opportunity for our students to get involved, gain precious experience for their future careers and meet students from all around the world', said Goran Minic. The Universiade is going to improve standards of studying and practicing sports at the university because the existing infrastructure will be modernized, and the exchange of thoughts and experiences will accelerate our access to Europe. 'The Summer University Games exist in the first place for students, and it is also important that student associations take part in their organization by raising awareness about the importance of volunteering and by spreading the values of academic education and sport among our youth', said Zoran Jovanovic, UB2009 Executive Director. The ceremony of signing was attended by coordinators of the UB2009 volunteer sector, who invited volunteers for the upcoming World University Championships in taekwondo, rowing, flat water canoeing, as well as for the European junior championship in swimming. They have also recalled the successful organization of a thousand volunteers in the recent European song contest in Belgrade.
