Entering a New Era of Communication
A picture says more than a thousand words. A moving image says… well even a lot more. Therefore FISU has launched an ambitious program broadcasting video images of its events on line over the Internet. WebTV offers many advantages over conventional television. It can be produced with a small production team. WebTV is free of timetable restraints. Webcasting therefore allows FISU to offer images of its events around the entire world for a very small investment.
Webcasting at Previous Universiades
The FISU Web TV Program covers all finals of the different sports disciplines. These spectacular moments can still be downloaded to watch. But it is not only the thrilling finals that can be relived. If you want to experience the enchantment of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies again, if you missed the original lighting of the torch, if you want to listen to the interviews of medal winning athletes, hear the chefs de mission address the world in their mother tongue or even witness a preview of the next Universiade, then click on the appropriate banners and enter the magnificent world of the Universiades and International University Sports competitions.

How is it done?
The crews get their assignments and leave for the sporting events. The cameramen film the events, the reporters interview the athletes, the photographers shoot catching images. At the end of the day, the crews return to their office, where they start to process their material. The editors work on the images and reduce the video material to downloadable films of maximum one minute showing the viewer the essence of a day at the Universiade. Then the co-ordinator sees to it that all the information is transfered to the server. This way all the information becomes available for the visitors of the FISU website.
