2007 Winter Universiade: International Sports Medecine Congress

The best University sportsmen will gather in Turin for the 2007 Winter Universiade. Universiade means a link between sports events and science and this stimulating connection creates a great opportunity to improve our knowledge in sports medicine. The Organizing Committee has therefore approved an International Congress on Sports Medicine in the official programme of the Universiade. It's their aim to set a state of the art in sports medicine related with the University age collecting the best international experts in the field. The Congress is focused on Sports activity in the University age and divided into several Symposia, including a session on ethics and sports. A panel of international experts will present the latest news in athlete evaluation, sports biomechanics, nutrition, sports traumatology and overuse injuries. A debate on university and sports activity is set in the last part of the congress. A multidisciplinary faculty will be present. Instructional courses and workshops will be included. The Congress objectives are: present the results of clinical advances and update knowledge and skills in sports medicine. Time will be dedicated to discussions and to free papers. A precongress course on January 15th is dedicated to the advances in lower limb rehabilitation and focused on the biomechanical and neurophysiological aspects. ECM credits requested. Simultaneous translation in English and Italian will be provided.
