MA News: Suomi Research at FISU HQ

Last week, from January 21st to 23rd, Jukka Tirri, Sports Director of OPISKELIJOIDEN LIIKUNTALIITTO RY (OLL), the Finnish Student Sports Federation, visited the FISU Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. Jukka travelled to Brussels to do some research in the FISU archives on the participation and results of the Finish athletes at FISU events throughout the years. 'We have a lot of hiatus in the OLL archives and we would like to have a full view of our past achievements at the FISU events', Jukka told FISU Media. 'Some might think this kind of work is tedious, but it's none of that, on the contrary it's quite interesting to retrace our history.' Next to the paper archives, FISU has also an extensive photo and film archive. The film archive has been completely digitalized and one can easiy consult the database via computer to do research per sport or per event. 'Next time I will cover the films', Jukka said. 'There's still a lot of work to be done.'
