VUSA Elects Board

On October 24th, Vanuatu's newly established University Sports Association, VUSA, elected an Executive Committee at their inaugural Annual General Meeting held at VASANOC Haus. The election results saw the following persons being elected: Mr Jean Pierre Nirua of USP Emalus Campus - President Mr Louis Toukoune of Malapoa College – Vice-President Mr Pierre Metsan of Lycee MontMartre – Secretary-General/Treasurer Those elected as Members were, Mr Denison Tari of INTV, Mr Jonathan Tarip of Onesua Presbyterian College and Mr Anthony Harry of Lycee LAB. The founding members of VUSA were Mr Gideon Jacques of Vanuatu Teachers College, Mr Jonathan Tarip of Onesua, Mr Jean Pierre Nirua of USP Emalus Campus, Mr Louis Toukoune of Malapoa College, Mr Pierre Metsan of Lycee MontMartre, Mr Kalpat Kalpeau and Mr Denison Tari of INTV and Mr Anthony Harry of Lycee LAB. Henry Tavoa of VASANOC and Joe Iautim of the Department of Youth & Sports were appointed as Observers/Advisors to VUSA because of their roles within their respective organizations. The Meeting also agreed to also offer a representative in the Ministry of Education a role as Observer/Advisor to VUSA.
