2008 WUC Triathlon: Meetings

Today, the day prior to the championship, was a day of meetings
Colourful Erdek streets
The charming town of Erdek is submersed in the colours of the World University Triathlon Championship which will take place on June 28th. The whole town is living at the pace of this WUC and the streets are fully decorated to create a sporty atmosphere to welcome all international delegations. The Mayor of the town and President of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Huseyin Sari made a real fair of this championship for the people of Erdek.
The CISCA meeting
According to the long tradition of typical Turkish hospitality, Mr. Kemal Tamer, TUSF President and FISU assessor and his Secretary-General, Mr. Erdogan Celebi, welcomed the delegations and the CISCA members. The CISCA meeting was chaired by FISU Vice-President, Mr. Hassan Chick, and attended by Dr. Dusan Hamar and Mr. Arie Rosenzweig. Traditionally, the members of the Organizing Committee gave an update of the preparations of the WUC and answered the questions of the CISCA members.
The General Technical Meeting for the Head of Delegations and the General Meeting with the athletes already took place and special thanks go to Mr. Andreas Galanos, ITU delegate who did a remarkable job to ensure that the WUC Triathlon will take place under the best circumstances. Tonight, the Opening Ceremony will take place in the town centre.
