USA and Japan will play for Gold
USA vs. TPE
On Thursday, last day of the round robin, the USA played against Chinese Taipei and today they repeated the battle. Also their second game was tight and it had the same winner like the first one. The first hitter was Chih-Hsiang Li who thanks to his two team-mates reached the third base. But the third out of the inning was the merit of Stephen Strasbourg. He had the last chance to show himself to the spectators in Brno, his first performance at the Championship was seen in the game against Korea in Ostrava. Also the other American pitchers, Kyle Gibson and closer Kendal Volz, were an unbeatable barrier for the Taipei offence. The best Taipei hitter was definitely Chih-Hsiang Li, who hit Stephen's pitches twice and once walk. The second METU ZDARMA received Yuan-Chin Chu. But none of the players made a point. The first point for the USA was scored by Micah Gibbs in the bottom of the second inning, second by Cristian Clon in the sixth inning. The final score of the American team was reached in the seventh inning and the USA defeated Chinese Taipei 3:0. The USA confirmed their status of the favorite and they will play against Japan who beat Korea 6-1. Chinese Taipei will fight for bronze medal with Korea on July 27th at 13:00 in Olomouc.
