FISU at SportAccord

UBOC2009, the Organising Committee of the 2009 Summer Universiade in Belgrade, Serbia and FISU are present at Sport Accord 2007 in Beijing, China with a joint promotional boot. UBOC2009 is gold sponsor of the Sport Accord as well. SportAccord, the annual international sports convention, brings representatives from the 100 International Sports Federations affiliated to GAISF (General Association of International Sports Federations), ASOIF (Association of Summer Olympic International Federations) and AIOWF (Association of the International Olympic Winter Sports Federations), as well as the International Olympic Committee Executive Board, together with sponsors, bidding and host cities, architects, sports lawyers, broadcasters, games organising committees, rights holders and other specialists to discuss the key issues facing the sports industry.
After a day at the exhibition we may already conclude that the presence of the UBOC2009 and FISU has been a success. Indeed, the exhibition booth has always been filled with people. At the same time numerous meetings are taking place in the exhibition booth. There are a great number of international federations who have shown their interest in the University Sport movement and Belgrade 2009.
FUSC & AUSF House Warming Party
While in Beijing for the SportAccord convention, the FISU delegates were invited to visit the new offices of FUSC, the Chinese University Sports Federation and of AUSF, the Asian University Sports Federation. FUSC Secretary-General Mr. Yang Liguo welcomed the FISU Delegation composed of FISU President G. E. Killian, Secretary-General R. Campana, and Assessors S. Jasnic and S. Douvis. For UBOC2009 Mrs. Biljana Milic, Mr. Aleksandar Sostar and Mr. Zoran Jovanovic were present. The meeting started with a presentation of the staff by FISU CIC member Shen Zhen and was followed by a presentation of a film on the AUSF activities.
Dr. Yan Guohua made a general presentation on AUSF. The meeting ended with the traditional group picture and a press conference with interviews of the FISU delegates. After the meeting the delegates went to lunch at the venue for the 2008 World University Waterskiing Championship.
