OUSA President Cliff Benson and Secretary General Karen Nelson present a gift to FISU President Killian

Representatives from Oceania University Sports Association (OUSA) presented on the development of their organization to the FISU Executive Committee in Belgrade. President Cliff Benson and Secretary General Karen Nelson discussed progress in forming the new regional organization. Since its start in February this year, four countries in the region have formed national university sport federations and others are in progress, with the goal of bringing in a number of new FISU members for the General Assembly in Belgrade 2009. In addition to member recruitment, sporting activities have included collaborations between Papua New Guinea and Australia and university games in Fiji and Samoa. Upon completion of their presentation, the OUSA delegation presented President George Killian and the Committee for Development of University Sport traditional Fijian wooden bowls in thanks for the support OUSA has received from FISU.
