The Delegations Arrived
The delegations arrived in Cairo to participate at the 6th World University Squash Championship. The event is organised by the Egyptian University Sports Federation and the National Squash Federation from August 22nd to August 28th. This is an international meeting point for the FISU CISCA members, heads of the committees, delegations and participants from 18 different countries from all over the world and local volunteers.
Inspection of CMI
Member of the Medical Committee Dr. Kadhiran Sunguroglu took care about the preparation of the doping control room and he spoke with the doctor from the OC about the medical care during the championship.
Accommodation & Accreditation
The organizers prepared for the participating countries, official referees and FISU family are staying in the Infantry House. The Accreditation centre is situated in the Infantry House as well. Member of the CIC committee Omar Al-Hai who replaces Mr. Carlos Lopez, expects a lot of work, checking entry forms of the 82 participants from16 competing countries.
CT Chair checked the situation
Before the start of the competition the FISU Technical Chair for Squash Zeena Woodbridge (GBR, FISU Executive Committee member Penina Kabenge and FISU Staff member Michal Buchel, were in the Squash Club to check and they were satisfied with the situation which is excellent. After the visit of the venue the FISU delegates were accompanied by Mr. Wael Talaat to visit the headquarters of the National Squash Federation. During their visit they discussed about the draw for the Individual Event, they seeded the competitors and prepared the draw for the evening technical meeting.
Competition Program
Competition will start by the Individual Tournament for Men and Women separately tomorrow morning.
CT Meeting and Head of Delegation Meeting
The Technical Commission meeting was held in the hotel at 8.30 pm. Ms. Woodbridge informed all the delegations about the preparation of the tournament. Then Mr. Khan (WSF) took the floor to talk about all the technical points and to prepare the draw. During the meeting the Technical Committee was set up as well. The Heads of delegation accepted the Jury Appeal proposed by the Chair. Doping control will be made during the Championship according the FISU Regulations and WADA Rules.
