Belgrade Universiade has already clocked a record with its 21 sports disciplines and the expected participation of more than 11,000 competitors and 14,000 volunteers, as well as the massive involvement of a great number of people in the operational activities. ’We are proud that we are always ahead of schedule and now, two years before the Universiade, we have a team which will provide the best games in the history of FISU. With Swiss Timing, which is part of the Swatch group, together with the student-athletes in Belgrade, there will be 18 world famous brands like Tissot, Omega, Longines...’, said Sinisa Jasnic. ’We are pleased that a company with such a reputation has found interest to participate in this prestigious project. For FISU, UB 2009 and Swiss Timing this is a very important step. So far, we already set a new standard with our preparatory work and with the signing of the contract with Swiss Timing we just confirm that fact.’ Christophe Berthaud signed the contract with Belgrade Universiade on behalf of Swiss Timing. ’We are happy because we are part of a big project. For Swiss Timing and Swatch group it is very important to be a part of the University Games because these are the biggest sporting event after the Olympic Games and from today onwards we start working for the success of this project.’
