2007 Winter Universiade: 1st Technical Delegates Meeting

January 15th, 2007

Today, January 15th, the first Technical Delegates meeting (CTI) took place in the Athletes’ Village in Torino. All FISU Technical Delegates for the Winter Universiade sports were present, as well as their counterparts of the International Sports Federations, except for ice hockey due to a delay of their plane. The chairpersons were welcomed by Roger Roth and Kairis Ulp Chairman and Vice-Chairperson CTI Winter Universiade as well as Pieter Tilstra, Chairman of the Supervision Commission for the WU. During the meeting all technicalities of the WU were reviewed. Maurizio Dunnhofer and Giorgio Kaidisch of the OC pointed out the present challenge with the snow conditions and they asked for cooperation of the technical delegates with any of these issues. They also paid their compliments to FISU as the number of athletes participating is still increasing. Roger Roth asked everybody to offer their assistance to the 2009 WU host observers from Harbin to ensure they are able to learn the procedures as they continue their preparations.
