2008 WUC Rugby: Day 1

Men
In this first day of championship the spectators saw a bit of everything: very hard-fought matches which finished in a draw like in Chinese Taipei vs. Portugal and Canada vs. Italia and beatings like the one of France to Bulgary and South Africa to Malaysia. After this beginning, it can be considered that the championship will be promising.
Women
In the women's competition, the morning session saw very hard-fought matches in which the girls made a great effert to give the spectators an interesting morning of rugby. The Spanish team beat Great Britain and Italy. Italy overpowered Cananda and Great Britain dominated France. In the afternoon session Italy and Canada won against Great Britain and France respectively.
