This working session was held in the headquarters of the Turkish National Olympic Committee and started with a warm welcome speech of Mr. Togay BAYATLI, President of the Turkish National Olympic Committee. The meeting covered the duties of the 2011 Winter Universiade in Erzurum and the analysis of the current situation of the venues construction, athletes village & hotels, the procedure for training sports staff and was followed by a discussion about the knowledge transfer plan from Harbin 2009 towards Erzurum 2011, as well as the overall games coordination.

The Progress Report, which was presented during the Belgrade Executive Committee and Plan of the construction of the sport venues resp. non-sport venues, was analyzed very precisely with all authorities involved in the meeting. Besides this, the FISU delegates made some presentations focusing on the FISU Minimum Requirements & Regulations and Relations between OC, FISU, NSF and ISF. The CSU representatives witnessed an excellent preparation of this meeting by the OC with all necessary documentation and a clear explanation of all relevant points. The presentations of the OC showed the dedication of all people involved in this meeting which was fundamental for a very fruitful discussion.

All plans and strategies gave to the CSU representatives the assurance that the sport facilities will reach the necessary international standards and FISU requirements. However, the CSU delegates pointed out that the completion of the work on the sport venues and the necessary approval of the International Sports Federations as well as the reception of the homologation certificate in those sports where it is required, must be done within convenient time so that sufficient number of test events can be staged before the start of the 2011 Winter Universiade. Therefore, a close cooperation between the OC Erzurum, the National Sports Federations and the International Sport Federations is a must. The FISU delegates left the meeting full of hope, that all projects and strategy plans will be soon transformed from the theoretical plans into practical use. Next visit in Erzurum is foreseen from May 4th to 7th, 2009.
