Continental Association News: General Assembly ODUPA - Day 1

The first General Assembly of the Pan-American University Sports Federation (ODUPA), which is a FISU Associate Member, is held on June 14th and 15th, in San Salvador, El Salvador. This meeting is held during the Games of the University sports Organisation of Central America and the Caribbean (ODUCC).

On June 13th, the delegates of the 19 countries in attendance and the FISU Delegates, FISU Vice-President Luciano Cabral and FISU Assessor and member of the Committee for the Development of University Sport Pedro Dias together with the board members of ODUPA and ODUCC were invited for a welcome ceremony by the President of the National University Sports Federation of El Salvador, Mr. Eduardo Fuente Bonilla and President of ODUCC Mr. Sotero Vasquez of the Dominican Republic. Were also attending the ceremony: the President of the 'Universiadad Andres Bello' Dr. Guillermo Escobar Hernandez and its Rector Dr. Marco Tulio Magania, where the meeting is taking place.
FISU Assessor Pedro Dias
The meeting started on Saturday 14th, by the welcome words by ODUPA President Mr. Julio Jakob and FISU Vice-President Luciano Cabral. The morning session was dedicated to the presentation by Pedro Dias of the strategic objectives of FISU towards the FISU Associate Members. Then Mr. Olaf Tabor board member of the European University Sport Association (EUSA) took the floor to present the way the EUSA is operating.
