Member Association News: LSSA Elects New Board at General Assembly

The Lithuanian Student’s Sports Association (LSSA) held its General Assembly at the Lithuania Academy of Physical Education. The event attended many honourable guests from supreme institutions. Mr. Artûras Povilûnas, President of the Lithuanian National Olympic Committee welcomed all participants and LSSA President Mr. Èeslovas Garbaliauskas read the activity report of the federation. During the General Assembly the new Executive Committee were elected. Mr. Èeslovas Garbaliauskas was re-elected as LSSA President, Mr. Robertas Verðinskas as General-Secretary, Mrs. Genovaitë Aviþonienë and Prof. Povilas Karoblis as Vice-Presidents. This year LSSA is organising two multi-sport events for local students. Lithuania Students Universiade will be staged for universities athletes and the Student’s Olympic Festival for ordinary students. LSSA expects both events to gather more than 2,500 students from 15 Lithuanian universities.
