50m Rifle Prone Men
Leonid Ekimov (RUS) winner of the 50m pistol
Jean Claude Zihimann representing Switzerland performed perfect in the final of 50m Rifle Prone Men, held October 10th, 2008, and won with the result of 103.7. Jeremy Monnier from France and Yoshihito Kasai from Japan also stood on the podium. After winning a gold medal and a bronze in Trap Women, the Azzuri won another two medals in the clay pigeon shooting. Giancarlo Tazza did not lost even a single target in the final of Skeet Men, and his teammate Luigi Agostino was defeated by Nikolay Pilshchikov in the Shoot-off. Marian Kovacocy won the gold medal of Trap Men for Slovakia, and also the Slovakian team won.
In the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men final, Thibaut Sauvage won a gold medal for France, and led the French team to take the first place of team competition. In the 50m Pistol Men final, Leonid Ekimov from Russia defeated Chinese Mai Jiajie with a small advantage of 0.6 points, and Lee Daemyung from Korea got the bronze medal. But in the team competition the Chinese team stood on the highest podium followed by the Russian team and Korean team.
