2008 WUC Women's Futsal: Day 2

Brazil vs. Uruguay
The second day of competitions at the 1st World University Women’s Futsal Championship, home team Brazil entered the tournament facing Uruguay. Both teams had at least six players of the regular nation team on its roster so it was pretty obvious it was going to be a very tense match. However, the girls from Team Brazil did not hesitate to show their skills to the spectators as they beat their opponents 6-0.
Iran vs. Costa Rica
The second game of the day between Iran and Costa Rica was a very close game. The crowd has taken a special interest in the Iranian Team and the girls are becoming the fans’ favourites. Also the local media is interested in the girls and they are photographed non-stop. Team Iran dominated the first half of the match leading 2-0 at the end of the first period. However, Costa Rica came back into the game and the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Mexico vs. China
Team China was closely watched playing Mexico. The Chinese girls dominated the first half until the Mexican imposed their play winning the match 6-4. FIFA Delegate José E. Romero is very satisfied with the tournament and he stressed the importance of this event to develop women’s futsal.
