2008 WUC Waterski: Day 3
October 4th, 2008

On the third day of the 2nd World University Waterskiing Championship held in Tianjin city, China, after the preliminaries of the last 2 disciplines, Men's and Women's Jump, the final of Women's Slalom was finished in the afternoon. Adam Sedlmajer(CZE) led the Preliminary Men's Jump with the result of 54.8m, and Sam Haslam (GBR) followed Adam very closely with 54.7m. Selsor Storm (USA) reached the third place.
In the Women's Jump, Alexandra Lauretano(USA) entered the final with the best result, followed by her teammate Regina Jaguess and Nancy Chardin(FRA). In the Women's Slalom Final, Regina Jaguess won the first golden medal of the championship for the USA. Karen Stevens (CAN) reached the second place, and the bronze medal went to Maryia Veramchuk (BLR). In the awarding ceremony, Mr. Zhu Jun, Executive President of the OC, together with Mr. Sergey Efimushkin, FISU Technical Chair of waterskiing handed out the medals and flowers.
After the whole day competition, Team USA ranked the team result with about 600 points advantage, and Team CZE and FRA took the second and third places respectively. On the last day, there will be 5 finals of Men's Slalom, as well as Tricks and Jump of both genders.

Right after the Awarding Ceremony, a Technical Committee meeting was hosted by Mr. Sergey Efimushkin, FISU Technical Chair of waterskiing. In that meeting, the delegates representing referees, participating teams, and the OC shared their experience to benefit the development of university waterskiing in the future.
