FISU Seminar - Day 1
April 4th, 2008
From April 4th to 5th, FISU hosts a seminar for its new committee members. Not less than 70 persons registered for the seminar which is staged at the FISU Headquarters ‘Château de la Solitude’ in Brussels, Belgium. Today, April 4th, 2008, on the first day of the seminar the new members learned about the General Structure of FISU. After the welcome by FISU President George Killian, FISU Secretary-General Eric Saintrond took the floor and presented the history of FISU and gave a general presentation about the FISU CTI, the International Technical Committee. Mr. Douvis, Chair for the International Technical Committee for the Summer Universiade, Mr. Roth, Chair for the International Technical Committee for the Winter Universiade and Mr. Jasnic, Chair for the International Technical Committee for the World University Championships all explained the working of their committee. Mr. Al Hai, CIC Chair explained the procedures of the International Control Committee. The morning session ended with Mr. Eder presenting the International Press Committee and Mr. Collings explaining the work of the Sports Regulations Committee. After the lunch break, Kole Gjeloshaj, FISU Director of Education gave an insight in the administrative cooperation of the FISU Staff and the FISU Protocol during our events. Laurent Briel, FISU Director for WUC explained the working of the International Supervision, Control and Arbitration Committee (CISCA) together with Leonz Eder.
