FISU Present at 20th edition of the Korean Olympic Academy

From October 31st to November 2nd, in Seoul, Korea, the Korean Olympic Academy (KOA) held its 20th annual session. In celebration of 20 years, Yun-Taek Lee, President of the Korean Olympic Committee, opened the distinguished event. The KOA also invited a representative from the FISU Secretariat (Kolë Gjeloshaj, Director of Educational and Development Services) to present to the 120 participants the philosophy and the activities of FISU. We must note that the Chairperson of the KOA is Mrs. Yang-Ja Hong, who is also a member of the FISU Family as a member of the Committee for the Study of University Sport (CESU).
The participants, mainly students, divided their days between lectures in the morning and group discussions in the afternoon. On the second day they paid a visit to the Seoul Olympic Museum.
Amongst the speakers was Dr. Nao Masumoto (Executive Board Member of the Japan Olympic Academy and President of the Japanese Society for the Philosophy of Sport), who made a presentation on “The Objectives of Youth Olympic Games and Expected Problems”. Lectures mainly focused on Sport and Marketing and on the Paralympic games.
