INNSBRUCK – Today, January 15th, the FISU Family delegates made their presentations at the 75th AIPS Congress.
FISU has delegated its Chair of the Press Committee and EC member Verena Burk together with Press Officer Christian Pierre to the Sports Press Congress. Besides the two FISU delegates, representatives of the Organizing Committees of the 2013 (Kazan) and 2015 (Gwangju) Summer Universiades were present as well. The FISU delegates gave an update on the FISU activities since the last AIPS Congress while the SUOC representatives gave an update on the preparations for the upcoming Universiades.
Prince Albert, President Fischer & AIPS President Merlo
The AIPS Congress is staged concurrently with the 1st edition of the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG). At the Congress the AIPS attributed a number of Sports Awards as well. Among the authorities present at the Official Opening Ceremony of the Congress were the President of Austria Heinz Fischer and Prince Albert II of Monaco.

3 sports journalists won a ticket to Gwangju for an inspection visit in a raffle organized at the Congress by the Gwangju OC
It was also very refreshing to see at least 7 participants of the Young Reporters’ Program (Shenzhen SU) at the AIPS Congress continuing to acquire professional media experience. All of them were unanimous in their comments on the YRP at the Shenzhen Universiade: it was a great learning opportunity!
