Savate

The History of Savate in FISU 

Savate was introduced within the FISU programme in 2010 with the first edition of the World University Savate Championship held in Nantes, France. The championship gathered 62 athletes from 15 countries and was a large success for the French team as well as the teams from northern Africa.

 

FISU Regulations 

The savate assaut (French boxing) competitions will be organised in accordance with the most recent technical regulations of the International Savate Federation (F.I.S.). In any dispute, the French text will be regarded as authoritative.

 

The programme and duration of the competitions are fixed by the Executive Committee in agreement with the Organising Committee and the CTI. The competitions will last two (2) days and will include:

up to 60kg

up to 50kg

+ 60kg to 65kg

+ 50kg to 55kg

+ 65kg to 70kg

+ 55kg to 60kg

+ 70kg to 76kg

+ 60kg to 65kg

+ 76kg to 82kg

+ 65kg to 70kg

+ 82kg

+ 70kg

 

Each country is authorised to enter a maximum of seventeen (17) persons, from which twelve (12) competitors (six (6) men and six (6) women) and five (5) officials.
