The Ukrainian and Japanese delegation watch their flags hoisted
ERZURUM – Today, January 24th, the first delegation welcome ceremonies took place in the Athletes’ Village.
At 11h00 the delegations of Canada, Slovakia, and host Turkey were welcomed by Mr. Yahya Pasinlioglu, the Village Mayor. In the afternoon the delegations of Ukraine and Japan participated in the flag ceremony, which takes place at the central flag plaza of the Universiade Village.
With more athletes still arriving, only a few number of delegation members were present at the welcome. After the welcome speech of the Village Mayor, the Heads of Delegation were invited to speech. Afterwards, the HoD and the Mayor exchanged gifts.
